Olympic Coaching for all squads
04 Jul 2022
WASC are pleased to announce, we will be having a visiting former Olympic Gold Medalist Coach, coming to the Club on Monday 4th July to lead the training sessions for all squads across the club.
Shelly Jarrett is former coach to Australian Olympic Gold Medalist - Kyle Chalmers (who achieved Olympic Gold in 100 Freestyle in Rio 2016 and Silver in Tokyo 2020). She is also Head Coach at Marion Swimming Club - South Australia. Shelly is 1 of only 12 female coaches in Australia that is undertaking a high- performance coaching leadership program and is a big advocate of females in sport and coaching.
She is visiting the UK during July and has offered to come take a few coaching sessions on 4th July at WASC! Shelly's focus for the evening will be on turns and finishes. This is a great opportunity to receive direct coaching from one of the top female coaches in Australia. So please save the date and make every effort to come along.
All training sessions will run at the normal times and Performance and Excel Seniors will still have Landing Training beforehand, at their normal times.
Masters are invited to either attend the Performance Squad or Excel Senior training sessions, if they would like to take advantage of this opportunity (please see training times below). Please let me know if you are interested in attending so we can manage numbers.
Performance Squad - 8:00-9:00pm
Excel Seniors - 9:00-10:00pm
Please note, we plan to record these training sessions, for the benefit of the coaches for future reference. Should anyone have an issue with this, please do get in contact.
